CFIC Featured in Chilewich Lookbook: Comfort Meets Style With Woven Floor Coverings
December 1, 2022Ranking Our Top Commercial Flooring Picks for Medical Settings
February 28, 2023What’s great about color trends is that they typically have a long shelf life.
So, the colors you choose today to design your commercial space will still be relevant in years to come. Yet, in many ways, 2023 feels like a refresh in itself, and it may be time to update your office or space to reflect that. Today, we’re discussing three color trends to refresh your commercial space in 2023 that you can implement into your flooring and interior design.
1. Think Pink
Pantone, a company that specializes in enabling businesses and brands to make color-critical decisions, recently released their color of the year, Viva Magenta. This vibrant magenta pink was a hue representative of the vibrancy that they hope 2023 brings. Benjamin Moore, a popular paint brand, chose a similar, more orange take on this color for their color of the year, Raspberry Blush. Finally, Sherwin-Williams chose Redend Point as their color, which is a pink rose-colored hue with gray undertones.
It’s safe to say that pink in all its forms will be a popular choice for color pops this year, so choosing flooring that either has pink or red undertones or pairs well with the pink of your choice is crucial for adding an aesthetic element to your commercial space.
2. Earth Tones
Yes, earth tones are still in, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. However, this year these earthy hues are taking a slight turn. In recent years, creamy beiges paired with light-bleached wood were a popular choice, and trust us, they still are because of their ability to make a space appear larger. Yet, this year darker earth tones like grays, browns, and darker greens have come back into the fold.
If you’re intrigued by the darker earth tones but don’t want to darken your walls for fear of your office looking more like a dungeon, try adding darker tones to your floors! We love this engineered hardwood product by Shaw Floors called Kinship in Dynasty Walnut. Rich flooring like this can add a comfortable element to your commercial design without being overpowering.
3. Patterned Pieces
Multi-color patterns are yet another trend this year that we saw more of towards the end of 2022. Why settle for one color when you can include all your favorites in one chic pattern? Owners of gyms, galleries, and even office spaces are opting for patterned carpet tiles that bring a modern flare to their spaces in 2023.
We’re big fans of this trend. In fact, we recently installed a patterned floor at the Ocean First Bank headquarters using Chilewich textiles. Products like those at Chilewich are durable and easy to pair with nearly any design, as there are multiple colors and pairings to choose from.

Thanks for explaining how investing in new colors can give your commercial space a new look! I have a friend who has been looking for ideas on improving his office’s appearance before asking his clients to visit. I should recommend this information to him so we can find a painting company to help him someday.
